The Thought
12/01/1997
From the vast infinitudes of deepest space
To the infinitessimal confines of nothingness
Always salient is the thought,
the being, the presence
But a raindrop in the sea
A leaf in the forest
A breeze in a storm
Nothing is lost, nothing is forgotten
The mind of God fills the sea
The eye of God sees the leaf
And the hand of God catches the wind
It is all seen and all heard
We are but a letter in the cosmic books
A single letter in the library of time and space
Yet, all meaning is lost when we leave the page
Or, set out to make our own word
The Unfathomable Aeons

The ocean lapping against the shore in rhythmic thunder and spray
But for the unfathomable aeons…..timeless
Ebbing and flowing with the years
Before and beyond any breath of man, but not the thought
The stars pin prick holes puncturing the fabric of darkness
But for the unfathomable aeons…..timeless
Traversing the heavens with the years
Before and beyond any breath of man, but not the thought
The moon that nether world of the night
Full faced, profile, or out of sight
But for the unfahomable aeons…..timeless
Waning and waxing with the years
Before and beyond any breath of man, but not the thought
The sun bathing the earth in the glow of its nurturing light
But for the unfathomable aeons…..timeless
Rising and setting with the years
Before and beyond any breath of man , but not the thought
The creation teeming with life in dependent unison all according to plan
But for the unfathomable aeons…..timeless
Growing and dying with the years
Before and beyond any breath of man, but not the thought
God the shaper of all forms and mind of all thought
Even against the unfathomable aeons…..timeless
Steady and unchanging with the years
Before and beyond any breath of man, only the being of the thought
Industrial Education
by Timothy Lawton on Feb.15, 2010, under 1997, Poetry
Imposing a stone like rigidity
All must fit within the walls conformity
Making monsters of young girls and little boys
Giving them a number and taking away their toys
Grow up and don’t rock, dream, or spit
And await our orders to eat, work, or take a shit
Beyond Poetry

Locks of red luster glisten in the sun
Betraying the beauty of the one I love
A smile that springs from the depth of your soul
Revealing her to my heart which she completely stole
To be captured in your embrace no words would dare
Dreaming of your sweet caress to which nothing compares
My heavenly companion from earth’s end to end
My strength, my compassion, my dearest friend
To make God my life you’ve taught me to never forget
In this world of darkness you’re a son that never sets
You are light, you are love, a masterpiece of art
I am transfixed by what you do, what you say, and who you are
There are no words that can express my love for thee
Like dawn or the wind, your spirit is beyond poetry
God’s Throne
by Timothy Lawton on Apr.15, 2009, under 1997, Poetry
7/12/1997
If in the universe we’re not alone
God is still sure not to lose his throne
And if the pathfinder should happen to find some roads
The scientists can no better explain it when it’s raining toads
Or fish, nuts, and blood
But, now I’m off on a tangent
The hand asked where the phalange went
And who sent in the Marines
All those jellyfish and whales washing up on the beach
Where the universe show is shown on a dark clear night
Beach blankets, butts, and beer followed by a macho fight
When they don’ care what was wrong or what went right
Only once have I had a U.F.O. in my sight
But, I don’t think I’ll ever forget that scene
Someone else saw who I didn’t know and had never seen
Such a sight out of site a pink trail of light
But, maybe we are in the universe alone
And god is sure not to lose his throne
Because all paths through the mind find the same road
Doing me no good in explaining how or why it’s raining toads
Or, bombs, guts and blood
But, now I’m off on a tangent
The hand asked where the phalange went
And who sent in the Marines
All that blood and guts washing up on the beach
Where the society show is shown on explosive nights
To keep anything saving one has to fight
Distraction on my left and desire on my right
We have only one life to be a light
And I can’t let myself forget what that means
The things that I’ve been shown the things that I’ve seen
Such a life, spirit sight God’s fire in the night
And if only one calls the universe his own
Love is the cause and substance of his throne
